Schools in the Foothills

School options for towns in the foothills

Okay, fine. We may be rural and a bit rustic in the mountains, but we are not old school like the photo again. In fact, schools in the foothills rate as some of the highest in the state! Schools in the mountains are built on excellent community and teachers who want to teach there! Check out these options for each town and explore alternatives for your family.

Questions when Considering Schools

When choosing a school for your children, there’s lot to consider to make the best choice:

  • Do I want a neighborhood public school, or a charter or private school in my area?

  • Are the charter or private schools accepting new students?

  • How far of a drive is the school (we drive A LOT in the mountains)

  • What kind of program does my child thrive in? Gifted and Talented? STEM? Arts? Outdoor?

  • If choosing an elementary school, what middle and high school does this school/district feed into?

  • If time allows, go visit and tour the school. Meet the principal and teachers to get the vibe!
